Recognizing Adoption Social Workers During National Social Work Month

National Social Work Month

March is National Social Work Month! This year, the National Association of Social Workers has chosen the theme of “Social Workers: Leaders. Advocates. Champions.”  Throughout the month, this campaign will work to educate the public and legislators about the vital role social workers, past and present, have played in improving the well-being of people nationwide.

Within the adoption community, social workers play a vital role in assisting pregnant women considering adoption, birth parents, adoptive parents and adoptees. Throughout the entire adoption process, their role is vast – educator, mentor, friend, advocate and confidante. They work tirelessly in helping to create families, and we are so grateful for them!

In many cases, it is a social worker’s dedication, experience and heart that make an adoption successful. This National Social Work Month, take time to recognize and appreciate the social workers who played a role in your adoption process!
